Holland Bloorview

I am honoured to have been invited to write for BLOOM, a magazine and blog created by Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital.

Holland Bloorview is Canada’s largest children’s rehabilitation hospital and provides specialized programs and clinical care for children and youth with rehabilitation and complex care needs.

Louise Kinross, the editor of BLOOM, is a parent to four children, one of whom has a rare genetic disorder and multiple disabilities. She is also communications manager at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital.  Louise was interested in our Little Tulips Family Child Care program, and asked if I would write about how having a child with special needs led me to create Little Tulips.

Hi Julie, I tried to post this comment but couldn't. I just wanted you to know what I tried to write.

Anyone who has not spent time with a child with disabilities has truly missed out on a wonderful experience. Just being in Brennen's company lights up your day. Andrew and Julie have created a wonderful environment for children with challenges in life. For those that do not know Julie and Andrew personally, I would like to let you know that these wonderful individuals are a "gift" to society as they work so hard to fill a huge void in society. They provide a beautiful safe, loving, and caring environment that provides peace of mind to the parents of the children they care for. Their "tulips" cannot help but grow under their watchful eye! Their approach to this aspect of child care should be a model for others!

Julie, keep up the great writing as you are truly an inspiration to others!

    Regards,
    Terry Sharpe
