Brennen, Andrew and I live in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada with our retired race dog - a greyhound named Rumble. We run a child care program for children with special needs. You can read about that here - Little Tulips Family Child Care.
I was previously the Executive Director of the Cerebral Palsy Association of Newfoundland and Labrador.
I have created this blog as a place to share some of my thoughts and feelings about life, love and the unexpected journey that is raising a child with special needs. I write honestly, and I write from my heart. I write not only for me, but for other parents of children with disabilities. I write so that you know you are not alone. This journey that I hadn't planned on being on has given me a different perspective on life, and I want to share that with others. I want to help build a world that is better prepared for Brennen and children like him.
My hope is for this blog to become a resource for other parents, to help you through your journey with your little one, and to bring hope and encouragement to the special needs community.
As part of my 'Tulip Tales' series, each month I feature a different child with special needs and share their amazing story. Please read, share and follow. You might find yourself inspired by the incredible lives of some truly remarkable children!
